Tactic's. That's what it was - Tactic's

It took me so long to crop and load the photos on Saturday that the rugby started and I therefore had no time to blog. Depression followed defeat and it has taken me awhile to get back here. Needless to say the digs have come and I take sollace in my conviction that it was tactics. Lull the AB's into a false sense of security!!!

Back to pre-match Saturday. The guy in red in the photo's is Bruce, another Old Boy from Dukes (Eric's school - well not his school personally but you know what I mean) who is here with the Barmy Army. The NZ Maori match was played in Hamilton so we went in to meet him for lunch. Had no-one to babysit so took H and A and met at Iguana's where said photo's were taken. I then took the girls shopping while Eric went up to the Rugby Club and had a few beers with Bruce. Hamilton was buzzing and there was a carnival atmosphere about the place. I am so glad we went in an experienced that, even if we had to come home to watch the match. I really regretted not having got Eric a ticket. Bruce has headed of to Taupo en route to Wellington for the next match. We are really hoping that he will be able to squeeze a trip down to us at the end of the tour when they are back in Auckland.

I will not make any comment on the match except to say that IF the Lions had to loose a match I am pleased that it was to a team captained by our very own Jono Gibbs (Waikato and Chiefs captain). He is such a nice bloke.

Sunday was spent blowing leaves with my new vac blower and clearing some of the bank by the pool. We have a loquat tree there with branches so high we cannot harvest the fruit (and I love loquats!!) and there are lots of saplings under it (next to the polonia tree we chopped down with Mom and Daddy). Well I dug up some of the saplings and we have planted them along the edge of a paddock. They look quite good. hopefully they will bear fruit at a height that I can reach!!

Piglets went to market today. We have kept 2 for R+R and 2 for our freezer. Ninja is still here. D Man I'll warn you when to close your eyes and not read about how good he tastes!!! We are probably going to abandon pigs for awhile as there is no money in it and it is very time consuming for Eric. Time, being a commodity he does not have a lot of at the moment. He is on leave from Uni for 4 weeks and therefore back to working mornings only. Where is he at the moment? - sitting on the sofa pouring over law books!!

Juliet and Kev are in the UK now. It has really made me, I was going to say homesick but that's not true, envious I guess, that they can catch up with friends and go to IKEA and I can't!! The car has eaten all our tax rebate aka air fares so it is going to take a miracle to get us to the UK for next July. We have to make the effort though for the girls sake.

I have discovered a great author Linda Fairstein. I grabbed 'The Kills' off the shelf 2 minutes before the library closed on Friday in a 'that'll do' fashion and have been up until midnight each night since reading(and anyone who's been here knows what early to bed people we are). Mind you she cheats. Almost every chapters last line contains a revelation or twist which means you just have to turn the page and carrry on. And that's where I'm going now. Night Night.
